There are so many factors that weigh into “alopecia” or hair loss. Scientists have been studying different theories for years and are not getting much closer to solving this dilemma.

Herbs that have been used to stimulate hair growth: Simmer a ½ cup of Rosemary leaves (Rosmarinus officinalis) in one cup of water for minutes. Stain, and add liquid to a ½ cup of good quality ca stile shampoo. Use the shampoo as you would any other. Rinse thoroughly.

A mixture of apple cider vinegar and sage tea has been used as a hair rinse to help hair grow.

Bio Rizen from American Biologics contains licorice extract and may help prevent hair loss. It can be taken orally and/or used topically.

Eat plenty of foods high in biotin. Biotin is needed for healthy hair and skin, and may prevent hair loss in some men. Good sources include brewer’s yeast, brown rice, bulgar, green peas, lentils, oats, soybeans, sunflower seeds and walnuts.

Essential fatty acids found in (flaxseed oil, primrose oil, and salmon oil are good sources) to improve hair texture.

Avoid using products that are not natural to your hair. Allergic reactions to these chemicals occur frequently. Most hair professionals can suggest natural products for hair use. Caution: Know who you are asking advice from here, though.
