What causes hair to be white when a person ages?

Can the loss of pigmentation be cured, delayed or reversed?

at a certain point, the body’s functions begin to break down and slow down. One of the functions in which the body looses is the ability to produce melanin. The person then cannot grow hair with pigmentation and it thus grows out white or gray. Also older persons get age spots, which are deposits of melanin in the skin resulting from the ability to produce melanin to go out of wack.
