Possible overactive thyroid? Other probs. as well ***HELP!!!***?

15 July 2009 3 Comments

For the past year I’ve noticed alot of changes with my body and I have a high suspiscion it has something to do with my thyroid maybe other things as well. On my paternal mothers side, my aunts thyroid taken out….or something of that sort. Im a 23 yr old female and not healthy I must say. I’m overweight (5′3 or 5′4 & now 253 lbs, was 275- 3 months ago)but lately I seem to be losing more weight than I should & now I can tell because my skin is starting to droop a bit . Everytime I run my hand through my hair, I get about 35-40 strands sometimes more through out the day every day Worse in shower) & its getting thin BUT Ive dyed my hair numerous times. I’ve just started having hunger pains but when I drink a juice or eat something, I then have a uncomfortable bloating feeling with a slight burning feeling or nausea. Bad gas. Ive had times sometimes days where I have a lump that remains in my throat that liquid or food wont cure and its hard to swallow. I throw up atleast approx. 10 times a year, since I can remember. Sometimes my throat is painful in certain spots, I have chin hair, mustache & emarassing enough, nipple hair. I sometimes can feel food or liqud in my throat 15 min after consuming. I get headaches but i’ve had 2 small head injuries. I sometimes get fast sharp pains when I breath in. Occasionally, when I’ve gone to use the restroom ( #2 sorry), I feel the need to bare down but feel blockage and pain in my rectal area & abdomen. My eye sight is getting pretty bad. I sleep & want sleep more than I should. Over the past 7 years I have taken Ibprofren, the hair loss & gain didnt start till about a yr I was off depo-pravera & I have normal, right on schedule periods but have gut wrenching cramps & backaches (I went to the ER once because it hurt so bad). Unfortunetly, I do not have insurance nor do I have children to be able to get on welfare, please someone tell me what my problem may be……Im despeate…..

The symptoms you are writing about do not indicate a thyroid problem. So don’t get stuck on that. You need to see a doctor, and tell him everything that has been going on. You will need a lot of testing probably to get to the bottom of this.
