What should I do about it?
Thanks, i know for sure that she's not pulling out, she has been seeing a therapist for a good while now.
Are you all saying that i should take her to a pediatrician or a dermatologist?
My daughter has early hair loss i think from stress(most likely)she’s had it from age 14 and just turned 15?

are you sure its not trich where teens pull their own hair out ? its called trichotillamania
maybe take her 2 a hair specialist and it's prob from stress
ways 2 lose stress:
1. Make healthy food choices. Sugar and caffeine are your enemies, as they both cause severe ups and downs, upsetting your body's ability to regulate energy. Instead of sugary, carbohydrate loaded snacks (like cookies or granola bars), eat fresh fruits and whole grain breads or crackers (sugar-free). Make sure you get plenty of low-calorie protein, like that found in chicken, fish, whole grains, beans, dark leafy vegetables, or low-fat dairy.
2. Find a quiet place when you are feeling overwhelmed.
3. Close your eyes and picture your own personal paradise.
4. Breathe. Inhale deeply, count to five, then exhale slowly, counting to five. Do this ten times.
5. Relax in bed. Take a bath, play soft music, and lay down in bed. Read a book and clear your mind of all the stress and rush of the day.
6. Avoid people who are constantly angry or complain. Stress can be "contagious," so avoid transmitters.
7. Exercise every day. You don't need to work out like a body builder or celebrity. At least twenty minutes of moderate activity, like walking or bike-riding, is the best known, scientifically proven way to significantly reduce stress.
8. Prioritize; make a list of tasks you must accomplish that day. Put the most important things at the top and list every task in descending order of importance. Learn to be proactive and take care of things before they become a problem, then your time will be more productive and you will feel less stress.
9. Curl up on your couch with a blanket, and a good book, maybe even a cup of tea or cocoa.
10. Do yoga; it relaxes your body, and helps clear your mind.
11. Go to your local spa for a great massage.
12. Lay on your bed or sofa, have some soft music playing in the background (or nature CDs) and listen to ocean waves, waterfalls, or birds.
13. Go for a walk. If you live near a park with a fountain, or near a beach or lake, the calming sound of water will soothe you. Just a regular walk will also relax you.
14. Swim. Either at your local pool, a friend or relatives home, or in a lake. Swimming is great for reducing stress.
15. Do the activities or hobbies that relax you (fishing, sewing, singing, painting, taking photographs), whatever it is that keeps your mind off the things that normally stress you out, or things that you just need a break from every now and then.
16. Spend time with your pet. Talk to your pet about all the stress and anxiety you've been going through and you'll feel a lot better. Or just cuddle or play with your pet. They'll love it and so will you.
17. Think positively.
18. Practice meditation. Try to remove all thoughts and emotions other than your controlled breathing from your mind. It's really difficult; some Buddhist monks practice it their whole life! However, it can be very rewarding.
19. Read a book or an article that makes you think. Whatever inspires your thoughts to a positive useful life seems to add new energy.
20. Smile and laugh. They say laughter is the best medicine. This is quite true. Go rent, buy, or see a hilarious movie. That is guaranteed to help.
21. Work! Although this may sound counteractive to your goal, procrastination never truly feels as good as having no work to do. So get it done now, and then you can relax even
I know this is kind of long but i still hope i helped =) and good luck!
It might be from stress, or from somthing more serious. I would go see a doctor anyway just in case of anything! Good Luck
Help her to loose the stress? Try to change her environment so it is more calming and soothing for her to live out her childhood?
take her to a doctor. Maybe she needs a vacation.
take her to a gp she may have anaemia or it could also be alopecia but more than likely its just hormones and puberty
sory to hear this, why is she stressed-u need to hava good chat wit her-maybe she's being bullied-take her to the doctor-have you thought she might be pulling it out?ask her x
Hair loss can be a sign of emotional stress. Take her to the doctor. She is way too young to be stressed out.
The same thing happened to my little sister when she was about the same age. They determined that it was actually from the iron she used to straighten her hair. I would take your daughter to the doctor.
it could be anxiety and stress or OCD i reckon you should take her to a doctor or psychiatrist
i think it's normal because my aunt had it when she was 13 and she is now 39 and has a lot of hair.
Well I'm assuming that she is either in her first or second year of high school, and may not be coping well? I had a really difficult time when I first went into the high school, with stress and stuff. Talk to her Pediatrician about it, and maybe look into a therapist. Kids deal with the transition into early adulthood differently, and your daughter is probably just taking it really hard. Good luck, and I hope she feels better soon!
Aww, the poor little thing!
You should take her to the doctor for some blood tests. It could be from stress, but there may be another underlying problem like poor nutrition or low thyroid function.
go to a natural doctor!! dont even think about a "normal" hospital!!!
It depends on the extent of the hair loss.
I've been prone to hair loss during exam time and stuff (I'm a teenager) and everything health wise is fine, but if you're worried then you should go and see the doctor, just to be safe!
does she use ions to straiten her hair?? sometimes over straitening one's hair can cause hair loss because it's making the hair very unhealthy.
Stress causes Grey hair, not hair loss. Hair loss is mostly caused by wearing hats to often which starts off in just hair thinning but results in loss of hair/shedding. ANother reason might be that if you brush your hair too much it sometimes gets loose and comes out of the root or if the root comes out with it it might not grow back. If this doesnt help then try changing hair products, shampoo – conditioners hair spray ect.
Hope it helps.
does it fall out or is she a secret 'puller'? I used to pull my hair our from stress when i was about her age but i never told a soul I did it myself. Either way some kind of counselling would be good, no miracle products are going to make it grow back until you've sorted out the root problem. It could also be a sign of some kind of medical condition, i'd say take her to the doctor and keep telling her she's beautiful and be there for her, early hair loss like this is an awful thing and once it starts going you get more and more depressed and things escalate. good luck and i hope she gets better soon xx
Take her to a dermatologist.
Tell her to consult a hair doctor because I am 13 years old and I started getting gray hairs :S but then my mom took me to a hair doctor and they told me to put coconut oil every weekend, its fine now!
I am wicked
Your daughter could have alopecia areata, a condition in which stress triggers an auto-immune response (when the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue) in the hair follicles.
A trichologist will recognise which condition she has and recommend treatment.
In the meantime, treat the hair gently and shampoo and condition it daily.
Good Luck
You can ask her to try this.Yoga or meditation helps relieve stress there by improving the overall quality of hair. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.
I think you should visit this url : http://www.hairfallguide.com/hair-loss-prevention/hair-loss-in-kids.html . It tells different conditions and solutions related to hair loss in kids.
I have had the same problem for most of my life, sometimes I would loose hair for 2 or 3 years then it would suddenly begin growing in. A very unlikely source told me to take a zinc supplement and it worked wonders. Sometimes I forget and it starts again but within 2 or three weeks of resuming the supplements it stops. I have passed this suggestion on to 3 other people and it worked for 2.
