low calorie dieting causing my hair to thin out, multi vitamin help restore my hair, while still continue dietin?

I’m fifteen and i’ve been dieting.
lately my hair has been thinning out, and i heard that happens sometimes on diets cause lack of nutrition, and i cant really get all the nutrition i need a day and lose weight, unless i excerise a bunch and slow weight loss………..
but i dont seem to have enough time in the world.
So anyways, taking a multi vitamin daily, will that help my hair strenghthen up and not thin out so much?
can i continue doing 1200-1400calories a day and just make sure to take a vitamin everyday?
and one question, is it lack of nutrtition thats causing hair loss, or is it just lack of calories?
because before i started dieting, i ate more calories, but i dont know why my hair wasn’t thinning out then, cause i ate junk and stuff, and usually my meals weren’t very nutritious, just Tv Dinners and etc…..
lol…Please answer, and be nice, no rude comments, thanks.
xoxo

You can eat 1200-1400 calories and still get all your nutrients. Fruits and vegetables are low-cal and good for you. You can actually eat a whole lot of food without consuming a lot of calories.
Even if you were just eating junk before, you were at least getting some nutrients. Maybe if you’re eating less, but still eating junk, that’s why you’re not getting all the nutrition you need? I would try to just eat more veggies (or fruit if you don’t like vegetables) and then you won’t need to take vitamins. It’s better to get your nutrition from food anyway.
Also, if you’re having trouble losing weight and your hair is falling out, I would get tested for hypothyroidism. It could just be a problem with your thyroid hormones and maybe getting on some medication for that would help you out with both problems.

1200-1400 calories is not a particularly low amount of calories, but maybe it is in comparison to the amount you were consuming before, or how much you exercise. Vitamins could help, however if the hair s coming out a lot, you should go to the doctor. My hair thins when it gets warmer, so maybe that is why?
