I need help with my hair loss problem?

Im a 23 yof. Recently i have been losing my hair by the hand fulls. I usually have fairly thick hair and it falls out some, just whats normal. In the past 3 weeks it has been falling out badly, i now have a bald spot on the side of my head, but im losing it all over. Im terribly upset by this because I don’t know how to stop it. Im scared to touch my head or even wash it for fear of how much will fall out. I went to the Dr about this 1 week ago and they drew my blood to check my hormone levels and Im waiting for the results to be mailed to me, but if anything was terribly wrong, they would have called me, right? They also gave me a dermatology referral since i have dandruff, to see if it was the reason im losing so much….but they cant get me in for 3 months. Im scared to wait this long, if i keep losing it at this rate, i will not have much hair left by then. Has this ever happened to someone? What can i do to stop my hair from falling out? I just dont know what to do anymore, except for worry and cry…..any advice would be great
There has been no sickness or babies.

This happened to me when I was on an unhealthy diet. Even if you aren’t on a weird diet I would suggest taking fish oil vitamins (1 or 2 per day) and one multi vitamin every day. Call your dermatologist’s office again and tell them that you were told that it would be three months but it’s an emergency and you would really appreciate it if they could fit you in.

If they are not able to fit you in then just call another dermatologist’s office. Someone will fit you in if you tell them what’s going on. Hopefully your doctor will be able to tell you something when your blood work comes back. Good luck with everything!

It sounds like alopecia. I had a friend with the same problem. You can find out lots of information about it by googling, and you should see your doctor to make sure that’s really the problem. I’m sorry to hear about your trouble!

This happened to me about a year ago. My hair started to fall out in clumps one day! I was scared to wash it, brush it, or even touch it! So I went to my doctor and she informed me that since I had a high fever around 3 months ag my hair is "dormant" and will fall out. She said to look at the root of a hair strand that has fallen out to see if there is a tiny white ball on the end, if so, then it is definitely caused by my high fever. Eventually my hair stopped falling out, it was about two weeks before it stopped. I didnt go completely bald, but my hair was dramatically thinner to people I saw everyday. So try and think if you have had a high fever or were very sick a couple of months ago. OR have given birth.

Are you losing hair circular patches or throughout your entire scalp?

It sounds like you may be suffering from a combination of androgenetic alopecia and possibly telogen effluvium or alopecia areata. There is company that offers free phone consultations that will be able to diagnose your issues over the phone. They specialize in natural hair loss treatments and special curcumstances. Their web site is http://www.hairgrowthcenters.com. I have worked with them in the past.

There are a few different reasons why this could be happening. Poor diet, Alopecia, stress, etc… What’s important is that you fix the problem.

Usually hair loss is due to a DHT (dihydrotestosterone) build up on the scalp. Provillus is a new product that uses a DHT blocker called Saw Palmetto which could stop your hair from falling out in a couple days.

It also has an FDA approved hair re-growth medication in it. I think it’s your best bet. You need something now!

They make a formula specifically for women, they have a free trial available and they ship it in a couple days…

If the bald spot is totally hairless and has smooth surface, it might be Alopecia Monolocaluris. My bro found this website called http://www.alopecia-areata-cure.com when he had this problem and recovered from it.

Its very informative too. Wish a quick recovery.
