hi. i have a problem and i wanna know if there is any way to fix it.
see recently (over the past couple months or so) I’ve begun to notice that my hair is thinning in the front. i’m only 20 years old. my hair has always been a little thinner in the front, but i’ve never noticed it like i started to about 2 months ago. i have always had a short-medium hairstyle. since high school ive had what is known as a pompadour. its the same hairstyle as james dean had. because my hair is wavy it naturally looks good on me. bak in high school though i used to slick my hair with gel and hairspray every day, but i stopped that after i graduated in 2006. i dyed my hair a couple of times the summer after i graduated but i had my hair stylist do it and i never noticed any problems. it hasnt been dyed in over a year i’d say. i wash my hair a MAXimum of once a day with suave (for men deep-cleaning) shampoo. i sometimes put “got 2 be glued” hair glue in my hair out of the shower, then blowdry it (with a warm or hot setting) and quickly rub my hair with a towel to make sure it’s dry, then push my hair into place with my hands.
however a few months ago i decided to try and grow my hair out and see how it looks long. then one night my friends told me my hair was thinning and so i got really concerned and i started to notice it. whenever i stand under a light i can see the front of my head under my hair and i can tell its thinning. i even asked my hairstylist who said it IS thinning but it’s also thick everywhere else. i have a slight widow’s peak and its really only there in the front i notice a problem. the rest of my hair is all right. baldness does run in my family but i feel 20 is too young. how can i fix this or is there any way? could my hair-styling technique be to blame? i dont wear hats hardly ever. plz help! i dont wanna lose my hair so soon =(
p.s. i didnt like the way my hair looked longer so i got it cut back to my old style yesterday and i still notice it thinning even though my hair is shorter now. i know kerotene has to do with hair and stuff. would eating carrots help at all. they have kerotene right?
im not having any hair problems anywhere else. im part italian and have hairy forearms, chest, legs…everywhere, really. i have too much hair everywhere else and not enough where i need it. ugh.

You started losing your hair a couple of years ago, you just didn’t know it. The same thing that is causing hair to grow everywhere else is also causing you to lose hair on the top of your head. The process has started, and you can’t do anything about it now. It’s too late.
There is nothing you can do to stop it. All the products are only designed to make one thing grow, and that is bank accounts — certainly not yours. Just enjoy whatever life throws at you. There are worse things that will happen in your life than losing hair.
try bosley
i used gel and hairspray every day, and dyed my hair a couple of times too. im 20 and noticed the same thing like 6 months ago. but it stoped falling ever since i stoped messing with it. the case may not be the same for you. i wouldn’t trust any hair restoring products without consulting a doctor about it first.
It’s nothing that your doing to your hair. Sound like pure genetics. Get rogaine! haha
but seriously, I’ve heard that it actually works, but takes a while, so you want to get it when your hair’s just thinning so you don’t go totally bald up there.
