How can I get rid of my perm and the color in my hair without ruining it?

Currently, I have shoulder length hair, that is permed and is dyed burgandy. the color is slowly growing out, but the perm doesn't seem to want to leave. I permed it almost a year ago. I like the color it is and I like the curls, but I am getting married in April and am trying to decide if I want my natural color back, which is a strawberry blonde with natural highlights that range from almost white to fire engine red. But it has been awhile, a couple of years, since I have been straight haired and strawberry blonde. So is there a way to strip the perm and color with out ruining my hair. I'm wanting to do it soon, so I can see what it looks like and still have time for my hair to regain health, if need be, incase I decide to reperm and recolor it before the wedding.

If he fell in love with you and your curly, burgundy hair, why change it? Returning your hair to it's original color is going to take several steps and be very damaging. But if you insist, first have the perm straightened and then deep condition for a couple of weeks to restore it. Next, have the color stripped out and changed and then spend another two weeks conditioning it back to normal. If you decide you want it recolored and permed again, make sure its in top condition. Get the perm first and then the color. Coloring hair darker isn't nearly as damaging as lightening it and some hair color solutions actually make your hair feel better.
