Hairline receding at 23?

Okay, I haven’t really focused my attention on this until recently when I came across some pictures of me when I was a child. It looked as though my hairline was a bit lower but when I compare it to the present, I see that it’s a little higher up and further back. I’ve read that hair loss is inherited from the mother’s side of the family but I’ve seen cases where it is the complete opposite. Anyways, my hair line grows similar to that of my mother and grandfather (her father) but he still has a head full of hair. I do too, but I’m just concerned about losing it or if every man experiences a receding hairline….Can ya’ll help a brotha out?

Sadly it happens.. I knew a guy my senior year in high school who was losing his hair at 18.

The Theory of hair loss related to your grandfather on your mom’s side has been discounted. It boils down to genetics in the whole family.

You can try a 15 minute scalp massage daily, that will help as much as anything. My hair stylist told me that. Otherwise man…. you want to warm up and stimulate your scalp to get the blood vessels in it flowing.

You can see a doc about it… Over the counter remedies might be ok, but I’d talk to a health care professional before buying anything

Shave it all off ’cause bald guys look really intense. Unless you’re fat, in which case I would stick with the receding hairline as to fit the stereotype.

if it happens then it happens. nothing too much you can really do, unless you want to try rogaine foam or something like that.

the less you worry about it the better, getting all insecure is way more unattractive than a bit of hair loss is.

besides it happens to 90% of guys eventually, everyone knows that it’s normal. kinda sucks to have it start so early but oh well. it’s not like you chose to have it happen.

Don’t worry about stuff you have no control over. If it is inevitable, then there’s nothing you can do about it. Worrying won’t make it better – only worse. Life is not always the way it’s supposed to be. It’s just the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.
