hair loss when dieting/skipping periods, help! has anyone else experienced stuff like this?

I’m low-calorie dieting right now, i’m around 130-135lbs.
and my goal is 120lbs, i wanna be 120lbs.

I’m really freaked out though, cause i haven’t had my period since early april..i’ve skipped like three months…and i still haven’t had my period, is that really bad??
Also…my hair is thinning out alot..and my mom noticed..and she asked if i was losing hair..i told her no..but i am..my hair is thinning out..a lot..i used to have really thick hair..seriously..
I’ve heard hair loss can be caused from lack of iron, thats it then??
So i should eat more iron, how??what foods??any ideas??
also protien helps build hair up again?
how much protien??what foods??help me!!!!
also…since my hair is thinning out and i notice it on my pillow, in the shower, hair brush..etc…When will i start seeing results?
as in how long will it take to restore my hair growth again where i stop losing hair and it thickens up like it used to be, how do i do that and will it take a long time, have i totally screwed up while dieting??
And when on earth will i get my period again?
when i get to my weight goal and stop dieting?
what if i dont get it all summer? is that bad?
like for my health and all..coz i know skipping a few months isnt normal….
Im just scared and i dont wanna keep losing hair, or skipping stuff like periods, coz that isnt normal, but i wanna keep losing weight, what are some foods i need to add to my diet, just help me out please, and maybe some people with experience like have had hair loss, skipping stuff, while on a diet, when does it come back???
Thansk!

first of all, calm down. your nerves are shot, and that’s not doing you any good. stress contributes to hair loss as well as poor diet.
No one can tell you exactly what’s wrong with you, but I had a similar problem after i had my 2nd child. i was in the army and had to meet a certain weight within 2 months. crash dieting almost wrecked my health. (i think they are easier on the weight thing now)
i know that if you lose too much weight it can interfere with your cycle on several different levels. hormonal, bfc (body fat content) etc. and that your organs need some fat around them to protect them. if they lose that other problems ensue quickly. poor nutrition is the biggest contributor to hair loss.(other than disease or medicines) i don’t know how old you are or what your physical condition is, so my only advice is simple…eat. rapid weight loss is more unhealthy than being a bit overweight!
i am 42. 5.8” and 140 lbs. i am a fitness freak mother of two. people think i’m 30 years old. no fat sticks out on me.

simple rule of thumb for good body weight:

Consult a doctor. get straight. make a commitment to your own health.

if it doesn’t grow, or come straight off the bone, don’t eat it. (no processed foods,of any kind.)

move around a LOT and get at least 30 mins of moderate exercise a day building up to one hour.

    good luck!
