Recently I’ve been kind of stressed out about a concert I’m playing in as well as going to a recording studio, and i’ve also been a little upset and worried about some personal situations. I’ve lost my appetite and had trouble sleeping. But i’ve also noticed that i’ve had some hair loss, my hair hasn’t started looking thinner or anything but it has definitely been falling out. I’m only 14 so i know i’m not going bald, but i’m just trying to figure out why i would be losing hair.

Yes, stress can do that. I can understand the nervousness about all the things you’re doing – just go ahead and enjoy it!
Yes It can but if you have lost you appetite it helps to take some multi vitamins and vitamins for you hair.
yes .. it effect the hair by taking the hair from angen stage to the last stage .. where they fall in 5 to 19 days..
I’ve seen stress cause grey hair so I would assume that it could also cause the follicles to die out also.
Definitely. Actually the #1 reason for hair loss in most people is stress and old age. Since in your cage, you are still very young, then it definitely can be because of stress.
So don’t worry, the solution is simple. You can get over your stress using different easy methods – like free stress relief games, exercises, cartoons, or as simple of breathing methods.
Relieving stress is very simple when you know how. And by the way, don’t take any anti-stress medicine because they just give you temporary effect and come with side effects… which means possibly more hair loss.
By the way, good luck with your concert!
Yes stress or depression can cause all sorts of physical symptoms such as hair loss, weight loss, skin break outs, etc… It’s normal but if it becomes a serious problem, maybe you should see a doctor.

Depression definitely does cause hair loss. I suggest you talk to someone about this before it gets out of hand really starts affecting everything you do.
could be that and also iron deficiency. lack of iron will cause hair loss and sleep troubles. trust me. I am going through it right now. if you are tired all the time have yourself tested and yes sometimes stress can bring these ailments along but just in case you should check
ya it does
I have the exact same problem so yes this is common. since your really into music you should meditate with it and calm yourself out. spend some time taking deep breathes and you will feel better i promise
. Practice hard and im sure your gigs will turn out great.
yeah it can actually. just don’t stress out! Think about it this way, if you make a mistake, make it a happy mistake!
Increased hair loss is a common effect of puberty. You won’t get bald spots, but more hair will come out than usual. Stress can also have this effect, but possibly to a worse extent. Try to take some time to yourself and relax and see if the problem gets better.
Yes it can.
It can also be the weather change.
and lack of proper nutrition ,make sure you take a multivitamin every day.
Look up the vitamin Biotin
Keep your hair down, do not put it in a pony tail.
If you are really worried go to http://www.webmd.com don’t worry it’s not spam.
Please go and see you doctor. Anxiety and depression can cause hair loss. Try and nip it in the bud by going to see your doctor.
best wishes x
Stress produces a hormone called cortisol, which can affect thyroid functioning adversely, and a malfunctioning thyroid can cause hair loss, or thinning. Also; examine your diet; go to http://www.mercola.com SEARCHBAR "nutritional type" & (free, 20 question quiz) http://www.naturalhealthcoach.com/tools/ & eat more in accordance with yours.
See section 2, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on page R first. Choose to be optimistic, and maintain a positive attitude. Also see, as applicable, young women’s depression, page V: WOMEN TO WOMEN, teen depression, and eventually the rest of section 2. Take the depression quiz on page J, in section 2, at ezy build, and if positive, print, and take to your doctor, to eliminate medical causes.
Read: "Lift your mood now." by John D Preston, Psy.D. 2001, New Harbinger Publications, Inc., 5674 Shattuck Avenue, Oakland. CA (short, 5 – 10 mn. chapters; easily immediately implemented), & "Feeling Good – the new mood therapy" by David D. Burns, from your bookstore, or Amazon.com (read next; skip parts which don’t apply; read them later; it’s VERY comprehensive).
Stress is addressed in section 42, at ezy build; see page i first (insomnia; section 3; view page O first). Use sea salt, preferably http://www.naturalnews.com/025883.html or at least iiodised salt as many people are iodine deficient, also adversely affecting thyroid function. Omega 3 may help, as well.
Both emotional and physical stress (such as a serious illness or recovery from surgery) have been associated with hair loss. It is possible that stress induces hormonal changes that are responsible for the hair loss, since hair loss is a known consequence of other hormonal changes due to pregnancy, thyroid disturbances, or even from taking oral contraceptives.
Nervous habits, such as scalp rubbing or hair twisting or pulling may also be responsible for hair loss. These habits may be responses to psychological stress in some people and may be another cause of stress-related hair loss.
The hair loss from hormonal changes often disappears after a period of months to two years. As with other stress-related symptoms, learning and practicing effective stress-management techniques can help reduce the severity of the symptoms.
