Birth control hair loss?

So I went on and off birth control within a span of a couple of days. I went on it on a friday and off of it by monday…I started to lose hair soon after I got my period due to the lack of taking the pill. I want to be sure that this hair loss is due to starting and stopping the pill and I would also like to know if/when this hair loss will stop since it is quite substantial. Thank you
