Hi. im experiencing hair loss at the temples of my head. I do have hormonal problems (i was told i am insulin resistant and maybe have pcos). i am taking metformin for the insulin resistance. Im also very overweight, which i know effects hormones. What can be done to help me from losing my hair more and/or regrowing it? Will losing weight help, maybe to restore balance to the hormones? I dont know…

I don't know about the hair… but in general, losing weight should help your health. But, definitely talk to your doctor before you try to lose weight, especially with you having those other conditions. Also try talking to your doctor about the hair loss. Also, I know that biotin (a B vitamin) helps hair grow a lot better… you might want to try supplements that contain biotin (only after asking your doctor, of course). And, in the mean time, you might feel less self-conscious about your hair if you wore it in a style with bangs or something to kind of hide the thinning front.
Have you had your thyroid checked?
Hairloss is a symptom of thyroid trouble.
If you are on a low carb diet that could the problem. I know you problem changed your diet when you found out that you had pcos. Look into the changes you have made recently
